What to do, VOCON or humm, not the RF board, humm. No buttons work, no noise, no squelch break or anything. Humm

Any help,

That'd be my best guess.

My Jedi radios (MTS and XTS) do this all the time when the battery is too weak to turn on the radio.

Try charging it...or, try a known good battery...your battery could be SOL.

Can you read the radio with RSS?

Wonder if it was inhibited. That would give same condition.

Did you attempt to lab the radio??? Sounds like the vocon is shot.

Yeah, battery is up to snuff, no I haven't been able to read it as of yet due to shipping on the programming cable.

So for now I'm gonna shoot by and see seth when I get back up north, so I can get it going, Ex-gov of some sort maybe they blanked the vocon. We'll see.

Anyone have any further news on the Virginia State Police's digital system?

Told around 2008 for northern VA and parts west. Thats the main intent for the radio.

Thanks,

Yep. Was at the VSP Div 7 HQ not too long ago talking to one of the techs. We won't see anything until 2008/9 at the earliest.

Well, took the radio apart and found water damage along the flex down to the contacts at the bottom of the case on the inside, pulled the two screws, popped the plate then cleaned the hell out of the contacts on the flex with a typewriter eraser. Threw it all back together and bingo it works. Excellent. The other one was a ticker. Due to the water damage the contact pins on one of the VOCON boards went to snot. Had to take the contact pins holder off of a regular Model 1 saber to replace it with the one off of the VOCON board. Alittle trimming and it works great. So again, two more VHF Astro Saber 1's for 150.00 a piece. !!!!

Thanks for everyones input.

I couldn't make it tonight, had some business to take care of at the Squad. Just got back to the room and I'm in Fredericksburg, so I wouldn't be ablet get there until 8, knowing traffic, probably even later.

(I'm damn pissed, too. My stomach was set on Mogoloid BBQ, now I gotta find some crappy substitute around here).
