USING A MARATRAC WITH A RICK UNIT???

Does anyone the modifications to make a RICK unit interface with a maratrac?

Are there any mods required?

Where and how would it be hooked up?

Would I be better off getting a lowband radius or maxtrac?

Only reason I am wanting to use the maratrac is that I already have it.

Would swap the maratrac for a radius or a maxytrac lowband if anyone is interested.

PM me with swap offers please if any.

No, you can't directly plug in a RICK to a Maratrac. There are a couple of pins that are different. You can farily easily mod the radio for a RICK if you wanted to.
If you want to trade for a MAXTRAC, I have a couple.
What bandsplit are you looking for?
I will also send you a PM.

Using a Maratrac for a Transmitter is pretty straight forward.

-Open up the connector on Maratrac.
-Remove all wiring that connects to Radio Plug except the large Red and Black. (Power)
-Wire jumper from Pin 19 to Pin 4 in connector. (Pin 4 powers radio up)
-Wire jumper from Pin 17 to Pin 13 in connector. (Ground)
-Solder wires to these Pins in Connector (Use 2 wire shielded cable) Shield to Pin 2 (Ground), One wire to Pin 12 (PTT) and One wire to Pin 14 (Mic Hi).
-On the 16 Pin connector for RICK ,Shield to Pin 7, Mic Hi goes to Pin 2, PTT goes to Pin 3

-As for programming set radio to be Non Scanning 16 channel clam shell type head.

Set power out to 60W for continues duty.

" -On the 16 Pin connector for RICK ,Shield to Pin 7, Mic Hi goes to Pin 2, PTT goes to Pin 3 "
Most Maratracs have 5 pin Logic boards!!!! Much the same logic board used in the 99 Mode Maxtracs.

Anyway you look at it, you have to "Micky Mouse" it.

Correction to the previous post:

"Wire jumper from Pin 19 to Pin 4 in connector. (Pin 4 powers radio up) " You NEED a 4 amp fuse in this 'jumper'.

Will,

Even if the radio has 5 pin and 16 pin logic board what would be the difference you are still connecting to the same points in clamshell connector for Ground, Mic Hi, PTT on Maratrac radio ?
