Spectra Plus is the same cable as a analog Spectra, now.... the XTL is a different story.

I don't know about the high power units, I haven't programmed any. The Astro Spectra Plus low & mid-power units use the same ribless cable as the XTL5000, which plugs into the mic connector. Part# is HKN6155A

I stand corrected, I asked one of the other techs I work with, he told me I was incorrect, that you need the ribless cable for the Spectra Plus radio's. Don't know what I was thinking!

Hello SG - it's good to see you're still with us.

Just a quick note on that Astro25 mobile ribless cable.

When you plug it into an XTL mobile the radio's display stays on but when you use the same cable with an Astro Spectra Plus, the radio's display goes off.

Wierd but normal.

Cable

Post by motsaber99 »

I was told the cable that programs the low and mid power won't work. But can't find the part number for the high power. Anyone got a number???

Thanks.

Watch out for DWI/DUI check points tonight.

Doug will be coming by, and HE will be the one taking the beatings, PLUS....... he's buying the beer this year, that is if I don't have to bail him and his pal out of jail for carrying suspicious looking radios.

Just a hint next year Doug.......... when they ask your buddy about his radio, tell him not to reply a Arabic.

UPDATE

Post by motsaber99 »

I purchased the mid power programming cable and It worked. Just to let you know if you get a AS Plus or a XTL5000, the programming cable plugs into the keyloading port. It has the same end as the kvl cable.
Works great.
