If someone has a 800 conventional channel that is licensed and wants to provide a letter to the board stating that we are authorized to use it at dayton, then one can be used.

A reminder that all FCC rules regarding the above channels are to be followed!

As I am a Hamfest, as well as Ohio in general 'virgin', I have no idea where to stay. Can someone offer some suggestions for decent hotels? I'd rather not go broke, but I don't want to stay in a $hithole either.

Thanks!

Do a priceline.com search or something. That hotel was only like $89 a night and up. It has everything. Indoor pool and tub, work out room, free continental food, shuttle buses, arcade (if you like that kinda stuff  ), and the rooms were nice. Give that a try

I think you all might know this already but :x
ALPHA, BRAVO, and CHARLIE are all shared with FRS ch#'s 5/6/7 :x

I put them in the zone list but not in scan.
even with the DPL this might/WILL suck as most FRS radios come with DPL/InDPL.

Now my next zone is;
APCO ALPHA
APCO BRAVO
APCO CHARLIE
APCO etc......Strapped IMBE ONLY with DSQ. With all in scan!

and if that sucks....OFB Baby!
(ahhhaa, P25 scanners hearing the sound like a nextel with the runs!)

ATTENTION!!! Anyone in need of a hotel room contact me by the 20th. I will be canceling the extra rooms I don't need on that date. If you need a room, I will change the name so you can call with a credit card to hold the room.

What's the rate for 1 person?

Since I have received a couple of questions...

I have 3 of the two bedroom suites at the Beavercreek Residence Inn reserved. As of right now I am only using one of them. I am going to dump the other 2 unless someone wants them. The room rate is $179 a night plus tax.

I hope that answers anyone's questions.

theres always the UNOFFICIAL 800MHZ motorola simplex whored out in all the old SMR trunking radios, that freq is 853.4875 i will be carrying one of my old SMR radios, it had the freq put in there by motorola back in the day, think i paid a buck or 2 for it. besides, theres so many old 800 trunking/conventional radios in boxes at dayton, just pay 2 bucks for an old 810, throw a good batt on it, and you may be in luck if its not pl/dpl'd

Why would the Crowne Plaza have 4 rooms booked for U.S.M.S. and 7
for Motorola (held but no PO yet) for dayton may-17 tru 26th?

I am on the call list there now! If moto does not take all the rooms.
The lad on desk was mad about all the phones ringing for rooms and he told me he was just to park cars.

Good luck getting a room.

anybody interested in getting some useage out of your VHF DES GEAR?
i will have my old MX360 DES radio on my side running 151.880 DES

if anyone wants to be in on that PM me. it would be cool to decode others talking in DES mode and talk to others as well.

i have a DES BX keyloader with cables for MX radio and saber radios, so i could drop keys in your radio (S) too when on the grounds. even if you arent capable of being on the freq im on, ill still load your radios for your own channels as well.

also will be running astro VSELP with my AS3 i have more options with that, 151.880 151.625,154.600

I finally got off my @$$ and booked a one day trip. Airfare plus car rental from manchester, nh to columbus is $190. Flying in Thursday evening, going to the flea Friday 8am-4pm, then it's back home by midnight. I'll be on the vhf channels in IMBE, probably UHF as well as 900 ham.

See/hear you all there.

This is going to sound dumb but if you head up I75 (I think). You'll see Outback and Longhorn on the left. Get off the next exit 3 left turns and it'll be on the left.

and if you spend all your money at my booth... I'll buy you dinner.

to maximize participation, i think we'll shoot a little earlier this year, is everyone ok with an early 6pm dinner?

it's pretty close to the hamfest....i'd say 5-6 miles or so.

here's the steakhouse:

http://mapsonus.switchboard.com/bin/map ... tclickpost

basically you exit little york road and the feeder road is called "MILLER" - once you exit, you'll see the signs. there are several resturants down there, w/ a Crackwhore Barrell on one side, outback and longhorn on the other.

Unfortunately I don't know our spot numbers, I had gotten them a little late in the game. If we get to keep the ones we had last year it'll be 532 and 533. I'm waiting for a reply from the Flea Market dude from Hamvention to let me know.

I can't speak for the rest of my group but I will have some various Spectra equipment out.

I will have a sh1tpot of lightbars though, and some GE stuff.... can you say radio toss?

The Little York/Poe Ave exits are gone...... literally, the new exit is about a mile south, it is the Benchwood exit, go West, your first road should be Miller Lane, hang a right (north) and your there.
