Does anyone have any experince with Sti-Com Fender Mount Covert Antennas? This supposedly is a direct replacement for the OEM AM-FM antenna. It wound be for operation on 462.xxxMhz. Thank you.

I have one on my truck and it works fine (02 sierra 4x4) Only trouble that I've seen here has been with the Dodge durango and 100 watt radios. I think the ECM's aren't shielded well enough and funny things happen to the car when you transmit. They are expensive but all said and done you wouldn't know that it was a 2-way radio antenna. The units are expensive though as I think I gave $250 or around there for mine. My only real complaint on the units. The newer models are wide banded as well which helps.

Thanks for the info Firemedic. This would be for a Jeep Grand Cherokee with maximum 45 watt UHF transmit, actually used mostly for receive.

We recently installed the VHF version. Works fantastic, and you can't tell the difference. A bit pricy, but worth it.
