CDM1250 Emergence decode / display

Hopefully I am missing something obvious here, or else I just made some major commitments which I cannot keep...
I can get my CDM1250 to decode plain ptt id from an ht750 and show it on the display. I assumed prior to purchasing cps/rib/cables/etc that if you were to press the emergency button on the HT750, you would also be able to see the id. I cannot get that to work. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for any input.

If I recall correctly from previous discussions, the 1250 doesn't support emergency decode but the 1550 does.

If thats the case, somebody needs to whack me in the head for not doing proper research.
Well, on average, what is the average price diference between the 1250 and the 1550? (VHF Conventional). I think we pay around 575 or so now for the 1250.

1250 does not decode emergency
you'll spend $40-$100 more for the 1550...depending on where you get them from. Well worth the $$$ just for the ease on menu operation.

Let's get specific. You couldn't get the CPS to let you program the feature or you could program it but it does not work?
In the CPS you open the radio, then "Signaling" then "Signaling Configuration" then "MDC system"
The "Basic" tab should have six check boxes. The last one in the right column is "Emergency Decode" If that is grey and you can't choose it - your radio model does not support the feature.
If it was black, you checked it, you programmed the radio, and it doesn't work - the radio firmware needs to be updated.

He has a CDM1250, it won't decode emergency. He requires a CDM1550LS+ '6AN' model.

So, Just to be sure, what I need to ask for is a CDM1500XLS and I dont need a cdm1550 with any of the other numbers after it (sorry, Im not familiar with the various "options" of the 1550).
Is there a matrix somewhere that shows the different "options" from radio to radio and option to option within the 750/1250/1550....?
thanks

CDM1550 will also work. Thats what i have. We are now buying the CDM1550XL+ which will do everything the 1500 does plus trunking. We pay $606 for those on a state bid

Motorola does not make the plain 'CDM1550' anymore. You can only get the LS+ version...but it is available in '5AN' and '6AN' models. Be sure to get the '6AN' model, as it will do what you want.
I had called it 'XLS' earlier, which is incorrect (that's for the portable HT1550XLS), it is 'LS+' for the CDM.

They can if they are 16-channel, and have firmware version 5.00.03 or greater.
