Anyone decipher this portable mod number?

It looks like the last two in indicate freq band.
AN = low band
BN = VHF
CN = UHF
Am I correct?

sounds like a VHF MT1000, high power, 8 channel. could be one of the following splits:
136-151
146-162
157-174
146-174
only way to tell is read it with RSS or open the radio and look at what is stamped on VCO module.

No the last do do not indicate band. The 3rd digit in this case H43... 3 is the band which is VHF, 4 would be UHF, etc, ect, . The second digit indicates power and the last two ie AN, BN are revision and version numbers

H = Portable Products
4 = Power Level 5 Watts
3 = Frequency Band 150 - 174 MHz

B = Revision to unit. Original "A", then B and finally C
