My VX-900UHF is USA1 model (400Mhz to 430Mhz)with LCD and 16 Keypad.
I also want to use the 430Mhz to 437Mhz for TX and RX in HAM BAND.
Does anyone try to programming up to 437Mhz with CE39 RSS ?

I tried my UHF 900 out today and was able to get it to lock up and transmit from 438 to 485 mHz, which by subtraction is a spread of 47 mHz. Obviously it's got more "extra spread" on the top end rather than on the bottom, but probably the only way to find out exactly what YOUR radio will do is to try programming it at the extreme ends and see if the oscillator locks up and works.

Hi Tom,
Could you tell me your VX-900 UHF is which model ? AS1 model (403Mhz-430Mhz) or the D model (450Mhz-490Mhz) or F Model (485Mhz-512Mhz) ?
I am going to buy AS1 model and if the radio can program up to 437Mhz and can TX/RX ,it is enough for me.
Awaiting your value information.

My radio is a "D" model and it will NOT go to 490 mHz, but it WILL go to 438 mHz, which is what I really care about, not the top end.

In the USA the amateur band is 420-450 mhz. Most activity is FM on 440-450, with 420-440 mHz used for other modes and also for repeater links, although some repeater links run on 445-447 mHz as well.
