Spectra mic cable extension

Post by racemedic »

Is there such a thing? I am thinking of mounting my Spectra head up between the visors in my jeep cherokee but I don't want the mic hanging down.

Thanks
Bob

Simple is to use a Spectra mic cable and splice in a four or five conductor cable to route back to the mic location.
You can pick up mic hi and mic low
on the rear of the radio, J2. Pin 15 is mic hi, 8 is lo, 6 PTT. check these pins first as some radios have optional connections here.
You can also pick up mic on the inside of the control cable connector in the radio or head. Pin 12 mic hi, 11 mic lo. no PTT here. We used the rear connector on the radio with a two conductor shielded cable but that does not give you the PL disable when the mic is off hook. We found a point in the radio head and feed that to the mic cable.
