Im not 100 percent sure on this but i believe that a Kenwood is programmed directly off the computer through a Kenwood program cable designed for the Kenwood model you want to program and does not require a RIB.

But please do check the accuracy of my statement for your radios in qeustion .

What radios do you own?: Jedi's, MCS's, and Waris

The Kenwood cable that I have for the TK series has some circuitry in the db9 case. I've never heard of anyone using a rib to program Kenwoods.

In theory, it should be possible. Some sections of the RIB are very similiar to the circuitry in the Kenwood cables. However, I do not know this for sure, and will not recommend trying it. You will possibly endanger the future operation of the radio and the RIB.
