Spectra Question

I have a high powered Spectra 800 radio, I think I have a 9000 head... (Its a high powered Spectra remote head, that can have dual heads) Model # anyway I have two questions...

I can't add a second system to it when programming it. I have the software for 15 max systems with 16 subfleets, but when using the personality/mode utility, there is no option to add a system... also, under the f5 system menu, there is no option to add a system (usually f6...?)

Also, I can't change the max modes to more than 40. The option in the RSS says this is dependant on the mode menu, but that field is view only and cannot be changed...

I am using RSS version 6.00.05 and the radio model # is T45ZXA5JC9AK

Is this radio limited to 40 modes and only one system?

On a trunked radio you need the SYS KEY to be allready in the software's SYSKEY path. The RSS looks for the SYSKEY when it loads to be able to add or delete Systems.

It is...

I have the system key for the system that is in the radio, and the system key for the system I want to add in there.. I even made sure they were in the right place (path) and under the software configuration, I reloaded the system keys and the program said the keys were loaded successfully...

Now what?

I think I know your problem. You can't add systems, not directly. They need to be associated with a personality.

Add a personality. Enter 02 for the system number (assuming you have only system 1 populated now). It should let you enter a sysid, trunking type in the Add Personality box, and will create the system and personality all at once. Then, go to system and set the other options up.

Max modes increases with number of modes programmed. You don't increase it... you only decrease it if you're designating data-only (inaccessible from the front panel) channels.

I think tvsjr is on the right track.

I think you're limited to the number of modes per personality, so that might be part of your problem.

To increase the max modes, just add modes in the trunking or conventional utilities and the number will go up all by itself.

That was the key...

You guys were right.. The number goes up by itself.. Max of 16 sublfleets for any given personality, so by adding more personalities, you can then add systems, or if you max out on subfleets you add another personality as well... I'm up to 13 personalities, two systems and 150 modes.. working great. thank you for the help...
