m5 programming problem

My computer is not reading my minitor 5. I have tried everything. HELP!

(obligatory) including another Min5 in the same cradle w/ the software? What does it say?

Got the M5 in program mode? If your ears are ringing, then yes.
Got the right com port selected?
Sure the serial cable you're using is straight-through?
Powering the UPI via the wall-wart?
Serial port recognized by Winders?
Using the latest Winders software?
