Anyone have experience with the enviornmental integrity of the 4240-3A antenna mount when used with the style 4245 antenna base? (NSN 5985-00-267-2752)

Looks like it's not designed to be ingress protected & I don't want to sandblast the CARC paint off to tig weld the seams.

Since it's a vehicle antenna & mount, Vehicle Radio Installs was my best guess.
