Hello.

My JT1000 is actually Digital. It has the same firmware as my FPP Spectra, but Motorola won't let me really talk about it.

After a two year hiatus, it looks like I might make it this year. I'll find out for sure in a couple weeks though, once I get the syllabi for my classes.

Yeah right, $10 says you'll have a different radio by then, if not a couple different radios.... *sigh*

Right now again, yes +1, depending upon a future employment prospect.

Besides, I owe Darren and Doug some beers.

Might give it a try, never been there. From those that have, what lodging would you recommend ?

Posted: Fri Jan 12, 2007 3:22 pm
by Bob
Depends on how much you want to spend.

In the past, I've stayed at the Residence Inn near the Fairfield mall. A single room is about $120 a night, two room suite is about $200 a night. It's about 15-20 minutes from Hara and 10-15 minutes from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum. Free breakfast, hot tub, pool and workout room.

I've heard that after an incident a couple years ago, the standpipe caps are no longer free though.

I'll be there, digital radio in hand. 'Course, since it's an Icom U82, I don't think I'll be coming across anybody's Astro Saber or XTS5000 on it :D

I'll probably bring 900MHz and my MT1000 on 52.525, too.

Seeking room

I'm in need of a room for Dayton for a friend and I. The ML Strip would be nice but y'know...

I know some of you reserved extra rooms and I'm hoping to latch onto one of them. I'll be driving in (from Chicago) on Thursday afternoon and checking out Sunday.

I'm the original leave-it-to-the-last-minute guy but plane tickets are at stake. Who can help me?!?

I believe I have 1 extra room reserved @ the Drury.

I will bring my Vhf XTS5000 and will be on 151.9400 using Apco P25. Is there anyone planning on using there XTS5000 in digital mode on any of the MURS frequencies at Hamfest?. This will be my first time using my XTS5000 to talk to other radios in Apco-25 mode and I'm looking foward to finding out how the radio works on digital simplex frequencies. Thanks.
