Does anyone know what part number speakers will ACTUALLY work with the M1225 Series?

Some say that the Maxtrac will not work even though the pinouts are correct?

Cheers!

If the speaker connects to pins 16 and pin 1 it should work. Just remember do NOT short any speaker connection to ground the radio has a bridge amplifier, both speaker pins are HOT!!!
If your radio has a original jumper plug with the pins 7 and 9 jumpered, most do, then the new plug must also have 7-9 jumper. 7 & 9 are for the emergency activation and need to be kept closed circuit.
The minimum speaker impeadence is 4 ohms TOTAL. The normal 7.5 watt speaker is 8 ohms. Some early Maxtrac, Maxar, speakers are 2 ohms for hi power and 4 ohms for normal audio power..

Thanks!

April, Nice to meet you!

Thank you for the info - it is just what I needed to know.

OK - but please tell..... What is emergency activation?

I have M1225's that have no jumpers and they do everything they should without pins 7&9 jumpered.

M1225 does not have MDC1200 and so has no emergency calling, therefore the PIN9 emergency pin does not need to be jumpered.

The speaker is wired ON inside so no need for the 15-16 pin jumper
