this is what I have for everyone to work with.....
110 watt dual head spectra 9000 with the siren dek

I was trying to program a dual head spectra for my fire & rescue service.
1) I read the radio codeplug *the rear head was off the radio*. 2) changed and added some channels. 3) did the F8 to program the radio. 4) put the rear head on the front head hook up and then did an F9 to program the rear head. 4) put both heads where they belong *this is how I was told to program a dual head High Power spectra*. 5) Now it does not does not transmitt it gives an error of 05/10 and an error type tone when i press the PTT button.

The only way i can get it to transmitt is to program both heads as a rear control head. when i do this it works fine with only 2 problems. #1 still get the error #2 when the radio is powered up it is in rear head status. it will not work if you program both as front head

ok can anyone tell me how if i have a good codeplug to program the radio above with the dual control head setup with a siren dex???? please i really need help on this

Have you tried to reprogram it with both heads on? When our ambulances are reprogrammed, the local MSS leave both on, and programmes the radio/head 1 then head 2. No problems. I believe the X9000 was a little different (never seen a dual head x9000) and that there was a mod for either the x9000 or spectra a9 that required one head to be off.

But like I said, the local shop has both heads on..

He has a high powered unit, which is programmed through one of the front DB-25 ports. I haven't seen one, only programmed the low & mid-power units through the rear DB-15, which allows both control heads to remain attached (what you're used to seeing as well, PJ). From what I recall from reading past posts, he appears to have followed the proper programming procedure. One thing to check, I haven't seen it on BatLabs, but if you have an HCN1073, make sure it's programmed as the front head. I haven't been able to get them to work as a rear head at all.
