I have a chance to pick up several Radius SP21 radios at a great price. I looked on Batlabs and can't find any information on these. What are they- what family are they and what programming adapter and RSS do they use?

Hi:

The SP21 series is part of Motorola's
fixed Channel Freq radios. Typically 1
Watt, some 4, some 10 channel. One step
higher than the junk frs series.

Hello Jim,
It depends upon what your looking for in a unit and for what applications the unit will be used for. I personally do not like to SP21 as I have found they are much less durable than she old SPIRIT/SP10 style radios and have much worse audio but then again thats for commercial applications, I personally think it would make a good set for the family to use around. I believe the SP21 is an MV11C Spirit onl in the black casing.
Thanks,

Okay. Now I know that the SP21 is a "P.O.S." radio that is probably one step below any Kenwood! I'll run from this deal.

Hate to tell you there chap that the kenwood protalk---what competes with the sp21 in class and price---is a much better radio..plus it is pc programmable and comes with a drop in charger! Hate to say it but kenwood takes the honor in that competition

Kenwood 248 portables ,and tk250 32 ch.
self program or 160 ch on pc.
i found good if it was not used by
public service plus they could be programmed on the site. Most customers have a price to work with.Motorola does not look at all the
people who need communications but can not
afford "M"prices. My 2 pennies in Canada.

ditto on the Kenwood. The SP21 is nothing compared to the Protalks.
