With the DSP you have listed you radio is not currently capable of IMBE......

Pardom my ignorance on this, but I thought you could load IMBE into any 1mb vocon board?

You can convert a VSELP radio to IMBE if you have the version F, or G vocoder boards (1 Meg Boards) in other words any radio with a 1 meg vocoder can be converted to be used for either IMBE or VSELP but not both.

Yes you can load it in but that for not mean it will work!

The radio has analog firmware! You need the firmware upgraded to digital first before you can listen to IMBE with the radio you currently have!

The "A" prior to the dsp shows to be analog at his time. You need to upgrade the firmware! You probably need to do this anyway with rebanding on its way to a system near you...

I was wondering about the A. What is the lowest letter (dsp version) that would support IMBE?

I found it on a side post. Sorry for all the questions. The DSP needs to be I or N.

Thanks for all the info!

"A" is not a revision. You need a dsp beginning with "N" or "I"

"I" us what I have normally seen in the 800 radios.

Read the board stickies on astro radios. This should help you.
