W3 mode select

So I've been playing around with my Astro Spectra W3 since I installed it, but one thing has me stumped... I programmed 2 side buttons as mode select 1 and 2. For some reason, I can't store a conventional mode for one-button access like I understand I should be able to.

I made sure the short and long keypress durations were set appropriately (50ms and 2000ms respectively), and I can't find too much applicable info in the help file in the CPS. As far as I can tell the MS1-4 options should be available all the time.

Any thoughts?

Radio is an Astro Spectra W3, T04KLH9PW3AN
R11.11.00
N08.02.06
580001-001000-8

Thanks
-Jamie

I think one touch is a trunking feature as well as an option that needs ordering

The help file says the Mode Select is always available and doesn't specify that it's for a trunking personality or that the radio has to be model/option capable. I read a little on the "one-touch" feature as well, which is for trunking or conventional to access features like private call or call alert, etc. I know my radio doesn't have that option.

I'll take your word for it though. Would be a handy feature to have.

I have tried the MS functions on several astro spectras, even with the latest firmware. It NEVER works. Don't ask me why, seems like a function they never supported with the firmware.

Figures. At least it frees up 2 buttons for me, I guess :)

Thanks!

While one touch is a flash option that is not the same as MS1-4 which are supposed to be user defineable hot mode keys like you can program in a regular spectra. The feature doesnt seem to work in the astro spectra.
