If anyone has recently installed a wide area digital conventional system, I'd love to talk to you.

Wow, no one wants to talk about their system?
I'm looking for cost guesstimates to come up with a ball park proposal. My agency cannot request a public RFP at this time due to political & contractual obligations, but there may be a path to relief and we really need a plan "B". Hate to be cryptic, but that's all the detail I can give. I don't want to know any of the inner workings, frequencies, NACs, etc, just a description of square miles covered, type of structures & terrain, number of sites, how it's linked up (microwave, T-1, fiber, etc.), how well it performs & a rough cost so I can cobble it to our situation. We are not looking for a trunked solution, conventional only.
Regards
Robert

If the system is to support firefighters with PASS Alarms or low air alarms you may want to contact the IAFC. There are safety issues relating to this technology (digital) and common fire service equipment.

Yup, I'm familiar with that problem. We will be having analog fireground channels.
