Otto Speaker Mics

Post by Wes »

I am looking for any information, pros and cons on Otto Brand Speaker Mics. We are looking at purchasing some of these for our FD and would like to hear from anyone else who is using them or has used them before we spend the money. Otto offers models that are Immersion rated and that it really what we are interested in, but would like to hear comments on any of their products. We are looking at Immersion rated mics due to the fact that 90% of our current speaker mic failures involve water damage.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Otto mics are good and they can take some water. I know a county that must have 150 to 200 all total.

Another company named McKay also makes
immersion-rated speaker mics for the Motorola
HTs. Here is the Tessco URL for them:

We use Otto mics on about 30 kenwood portables. Never had a problem.
