I have a Maxtrac 300 VHF 16 channel 5 pin. I am looking to convert it to 32 channel 16 pin. I have several 16 pin logic boards to use that were 16 channel 800 meg. I read the Maxtrac info on Batlabs and just don't want to screw this up. Has anyone done this before? Can someone "walk" me through it. Thanks.

Hi:
YES you can convert your older 5 pin Series
Maxtrac / Radius mobile to a 16 Pin Logic board.
Following proper proceedures, it can be done
in 30-45 min if you follow the proper steps
However, its a little more complicated than
just replacing the board.
You MUST have the Firmware IC Chip if you desire 32 Channel operation, and you must have either a " Blank " Board, or a method
of making one.
The 800 Mhz logic Board is set up for a 800 Mhz radio and will not work directly with a UHF Radio. The model number of the Baord may
be the same 9913 ect, but the firmware information is completely different.
Also, to save you hours of "realighnment" time, one should write down the " Spacific"
Softpot Values in " Each " of the Logic Board
replacement steps.
Failure to do that will require the radio to
be completely realighned from scracth as though it was a virgin radio from the factory.
I do have some " Detailed" proceedures that
is more user friendly than the RSS if you are
interested. Email me for the details.
