I am trying to program a Mot GP328 Handheld, Model No.AZH25RDC9AAC (They seem to be an Asia/Pacific model radio). I am using Professional CPS R01.00.02 & R04.00.00. When reading the radio, it seems to read, comes up with the Motorola flash screen, says that it is initialing database & then shows an ERROR 4-1379 message.

My question: what does 4-1379 signify?? incorrect RSS, model unsupported, corrupt software?? can someone help me out here.

I beleive my handshake lead is OK. comtool.exe will read the radio serial numbers, model data etc ok so I assume the problem is RSS related..
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards Mike.

Sorry to inform you, North American CPS will not work with an import radio, period. And if you live in the US, you will not be able to buy the appropriate software.

It's unfortunate that it is so easy to buy import radios, many find that once they buy it they can do nothing with it.

Thanks Tony,
I actually do live in Australia so the radio is in the right region, but as you would guess I have "aquired" this softwre previous. It is just any other time I have tried to program an unsupported radio the software will tell me.
I assume the RSS is region specific in the code then?? Is this what the error 4-1379 is specifing?.

Oh, well that changes everything. Actually, I have no idea how you would acquire the right region software. Perhaps you should wade through Motorola's website and find the section for overseas solutions. You may find a number to contact someone who can help, as I am only familiar with US software.

Good luck!

Thanks Tony,
I have will be looking into that option. I just wasn't really sure what the error No. really sigified. Normally they come up with a user/friendly(ish) message.

Thanks to all on the board for their info on this problem. For anybody elses reference the GP328 (asia/pacific model) handheld needs CPS R06.01.00AZ to read/write correctly.
thanks again to all.
Regards Mike.

Hi Mike,

I've just read your emails from last Nov about the programming problem you had with software for GP328. I have the same problem now (also in Aus). Can you contact me at [email protected].

Thanks
Paul
