On the 6300's when you use zone toggle how do you know which zone you have selected? With 16 channels in a zone I could leave one channel unprogrammed on a zone and I could tell that way but Moto must have done something to help here.

I don't think there is a built in way to do it, only workarounds such as the one you mentioned.

Keep in mind it took Motorola about 4 years to add a scan indication to the low tier P25 radios

Should be something like a high tone and low tone sound when you switch from one to the other
