APX 7000 NNTN7526A Dongle

Just getting started in CPS and getting set up to programming APX7000 units. Do I need the NNTN7526A Dongle

If you don't have the programming manual then maybe there's a section in the CPS help file that will answer your question. CPS help files can be pretty dense and sometimes difficult to understand but all the information needed is usually there.

And you're going to have to know and understand the flashcode of your radios as well. Here's where you can decode that data:

Be sure after you enter your flashcode that you check the "portable" box in the APX column.

That dongle is for FPP (front panel programming) and has to be turned on with a flash upgrade.
