I have a vhf hi power A5 spectra with a siren/pa. I would like to install another control head in the back of my jeep cherokee. Is this possible? If it is how is it done and what cable do I need.
Thanks
Bob

As far as I know the only head that can be used in a dual head setup is the A9. If the a5/7 can be used in a dual head setup that is news to me.

And buying the parts is going to be more expensive (really) than buying a separate radio and mounting it in the rear.
Plus, when you change the mode on the rear head, it changes the mode on the front also, so you can only talk on one mode at a time.
Two radios give you more flexability

I have seen tactical vehicles with what looked like A5/A7 control heads mounted in the rear area. I don't think they had a separate radio just for the rear. What does the A9 head look like? I thought the A9 head was larger and looked like the Maratrac.

The A9 head is nice and big. It looks exactly like a Syntor x9000 control head. Almost like a Maratrac head but a bit different, similiar size though.

One soulution for the rear head capability, add a computer printer, DB25 pin connectors A - B switch to switch to the rear head in tactical/command use. Switch near the radio. Some use a remote mic and speaker with a volume control and go "up-front" to change modes.
