ASTRO SABER CODEPLUG

Have new cps codeplug,can it be put in an older Astro rss program? I am not that familiar with programming.In general,how do you put a codeplug from one program to another?

No. Unfortunately once a radio has been programmed with newer software it is not backwards compatible with older software. The only difference I know of is you can have a DOS RSS CP from 9.03 you can work on it in the CPS and program it in CPS version 1.03 and still read it in DOS....if that makes any sense to you at all.....

Thanks, but it still makes no sense to me.How would you program a codeplug from one rss program to another rss program?

Even simplier...
If the radio was programmed with verison 4, and you have version 3 software, it won't work.
If your radio was programmed with verison 4, and you have verison 5, it will work, but you can't use software older than version 5 from now on. This goes with 5.xx verisons as well.
RSS v5.123 will not program a radio that v5.124.
