VISAR speakermike jack on top connector?
What is the connector used for the VISAR speakermike ON TOP of the radio?
The jack looks looks like a standard mini stereo headphone one with a screw thread on top. Wiring diagrams show it to be three connector, ground, sleeve and tip.
Can I plug a regular stereo plug into it? It's for a stationary ...

Visar questions
I have 3 Visar VHF radios. Two are the same microcode level.
One of the pair, and the other one with a later level have normal volume
controls. They start out very low and gradually go to very loud as you
turn them.
The other of the pair has a problem, it goes from low volume to very
loud ...

Re: VISAR battery charging contacts
Looking at the back of the battery try bottom left for ground and bottom right for positive. I believe there is a series diode on the positive lead.
If you want to connect direct to the contacts that the radio uses on the other side of the battery the middle is ground, the left is positive ...

Re: VISAR battery charging contacts
Thanks, not where I'm at. I'm in Israel, and there are no swapmets and no chargers to be found.CircleBat wrote:chargers are very cheap for these radios... look around and you may pick one up for 5 Bucks at a ham swapmeet

VISAR battery charging contacts
I am getting a VISAR from a local ham without a battery or charger. I ordered a battery, but don't want to pay more for a charger than I paid for the radio. :-)
I have a "universal" NiCad/NiMH charger I can connect to the back of the battery, but I need to know the pin out for the charge side of it ...

Re: mc900 won't go into PL squelch
For future reference, I found the problem.
First you have to set the "on hook" option on the radio features/misc page to match your microphone.
Second you have to set the PL tone in the PL tones page.
Third you have to select the PL on the channel options page.
Fourth, which is where I had it wrong ...

Re: gm 900
Try a Windows 98 boot floppy. If your disks are FAT32 formatted then it will read (and write) them.

mc900 won't go into PL squelch
I have an mc900 programmed for PL squelch. The problem is the radio will not use it, it is always in carrier squelch.
I've tried the obvious things, including permanent on hook setting in the rss, trying a different microphone (both with a clip on the back), etc.
The middle yellow light is on all ...
