I have 3 Visar VHF radios. Two are the same microcode level.
One of the pair, and the other one with a later level have normal volume
controls. They start out very low and gradually go to very loud as you
turn them.
The other of the pair has a problem, it goes from low volume to very
loud suddenly. If I keep turning the volume knob it gets louder and then levels off at the high volume.
Is this a broken volume control or a setting gone awry?
I noticed there is an AGC option which is not on, should it be?
The IF bandwith is set to 12.5kHz, there are two other options. I use
the radios for ham repeaters which are "wideband", should it be set to
one of the other options? If so, which one?
TIA,
Geoff.

Re: Visar questions
damaged volume control.. also can be the flex but you can resolder the volume pot to get it going for a another year... use 25khz (wideband) for ham
