What is really scary is I have my 1983 Park Avenue back on the road with my vhf and uhf/low band x9000 set that I bought NEW in 1987 and they are still installed in this car even after having spent 14 years behind my mom’s woodshed. And they work PERFECTLY.

I think it's kxn1028 and K1003, or is it K1004? KXN1028 for TX and K1003/4 for RX. I forget which.

I used the dual antenna arrangement for years with Spectrum antennas on 29.6 and 52.5 with no issues. The coax lengths are great for a car with a full sized trunk and the drawers mounted on the right side.

You can go to 160 modes with no problem. It was a standard option for the radio. If you go above that it's at your own risk. Strange things happen and you may have to back down the number of modes to have normal operation.

The difference between the scanning in an X9000 and a Spectra is the scan map for an X9000 is done on the per channel basis and the spectra uses a common scan table with individual entries in it. The per channel mapping does allow up to 16 modes on mode slaved basis, but that's it, as far as I know....
