Date Codes on Batteries
I am trying to decipher the date codes on some Saber batteries. The codes I'm looking at are like:
318 ZUE2
328 ZUF2
341 ZUC2
025 LU
Can someone translate?
Thanks.

The first digit is usually the year of production, the second two are the week.
So: 318 - 2003 18th week. I believe.

Is good to use for what codes are in warrenty or not.

Each of the calendars that Motorola has sent me has week 1 starting January 1.the week is based on /\/\'s dating year, which begins October 1st.
When we send warranty batteries in they use January 1 for week 1. December 31 is the end of week 52.
They do generally send batteries out that are 8 to 10 weeks pre-dated to allow for some shelf time.
Correct, batteries (as well as radios) are dated approx 3 months ahead of time upon manufacturing, to allow for shipping/shelf time. I just programmed some new CP200 radios which were dated Jan 2004, although the batteries were '351' date code. I suppose one could look at it as starting the year in October...3 months ahead of time.

Can you decode this date code for an XTS3k?
