The new topic format stinks...

The General forum is where users can discuss any topic regarding Motorola communications equipment - hardware, software, etc. There are also several focused forums on this board, so please take the time to ensure that your questions doesn't fall into one of those categories before posting here!

The new topic column format (narrow) is very difficult to read. Hope it's just a temporary thing...

If you dont like it, B*tch at CORNERSTONE COMMUNICATIONS for choosing that as his name  THe columns auto fit to the names column, and he is both the original poster, and last viewer, Im going to post so it makes it a little smaller...

I disagree Tom, I like it. It's sufficient.

It depends on your screen resolution. His name does take up a bit of space. Maybe I should go put a limiter on the SQL table on my board so that your limited to 10 chars or something like that....

If Tom is using a 15" screen, with 640x480 resolution, then he's got very right to be annoyed. It even looks bad at 1024x768.

I'm at 1152x864 or something like that at work, so it doesn't bother me, but that's probably where Tom's problem is.

I'm at 1024X768 and I believe it is poifect. I can see where there might be a problem at 640X480, maybe 800X600, but I think it's right on.

It looks quite okay at 1280 x 1024.

I think the "_" between the two words in the aforementioned handle is screwing things up. It's treating it as a whole word instead of two. 26 characters in a row to be exact. I think the HTML would wrap it around into a more space conserving width if it had a " "(space) between the two words. I believe the capital letters make it longer than lower case characters too.

This effect produces more dead space(blank)on the page if you compare it to other pages. Also it produces more line wrap in the other reduced columns making it a little more tedious to read. That is probably what TOM is seeing.

Some users also prefer to use their webaddress as their handle so you could end up with other instances of this too where the characters all run together and produce this.

Just an observation.........

I'm pretty sure that geographic location has little, if any, effect on this issue.
