Which holster would you recommend?
<pre>
A. The quick-release tab type
B. The solid belt-loop type

I would also reccomend holster "A". I also wonder if one of those cell phone belt holders would be sturdy enough to work on some of the smaller HT's. You know the ones with a belt loop and a stik on swivle holder?

Funny you should say that about the cell phone holsters. I replaced my star-tac (it went swimming :smile: ) and it came with one of those little Nokia style plastic clips with the sticky stuff that snaps into place on the belt clip. They of course are made to withstand the weight of a startac (like 5 or 6 oz.) I said what the heck, and threw it on my Saber 3 with ultra-high-cap battery on it :smile: :smile: :smile: . It stayed on there for like 3 days until today when I was getting into a vehicle and the radio got caught on the door and ripped off the sticky stuff. It was amazing, and the clip was so versatile! Oh well, Ill try again!

Jonathan,

Go with "A". There's nothing worse than watching your HT fall to the ground while climbing up a ladder. The plastic belt clips like on the current producation radios snap off. This happened with my P1225 when I was climbing up into the cab of a locomotive. The clip broke off of the radio. The more secure, and the more padding the better.

I also prefer style "A", except that I tend to prefer the real leather cases over the nylon ones.

For some applications, I like the chest packs that hold the radios at a 45 degree angle across the chest.

i would select the A holster, but i would like to put the A swivel on the B holster, i find that the elastic string will somtimes interfear with the channel selector or the volume control,

Definately an "A". I am using a Bianchi nylon holster and it works great! Swivels for those of us that are not as thin as they used to be out of the way of my spare tire.

I vote for the Full Belt Loop B.
My experiance with search dog handeling and other S&R pefer not the loose the radio/holster. I also used the Motorola nylon full belt loop case with my HT1000 on the left sholder strap of my pack and a spkr/mic when searching with the dog, it was up high for good range and out of harms way thrashing thru the brush.

I would go with A, but I don't like that one , looks like it would be too easy for my radio to fall off if I were scuffling with someone.Ge and Motorola both make one like the A that is a lot better!
