I am programming a MT2000 and a MTS2000 and can't get the ID to show up on the dispatch screen. I have set up a MDC personality with an ID # etc. I have gone through the program on both radios and can't see what I am missing!?? I have the PTT ID enabled MDC singalling on and the MDC system selected?? I am lost.

Can you hear the MDC burst over the air when you PTT the radios? If so, it's definitely going out. Do you have other radios putting out MDC & showing up at your dispatch console? What type of console is it?

Yeah I have other radios showing up even on other mobiles but these two portables won't show up. The burst is coming over the air.

I even tested them with other peoples mobiles and they would see other ID's but not these portables

Hmmm, I'm just as lost as you are now, assuming your system is indeed using MDC, and not Modat or GE-Star or something like that. Also assuming that the radios were originally equipped with MDC, and aren't hack jobs. Send me the codeplugs & I'll see what, if anything, I can do.

I have seen this exact problem on hacked MTS2000's with screwy MDC flashes, but on a non-hacked MT2000, MDC is native to the controller. If neither radio is able to be decoded, then you might try increasing the preamble so the MDC decoder in the console can sync the burst. If your repeaters have too long of a delay, you may be losing some of the data and not getting your decode. If only these two radios are doing this, then perhaps you should realign the MDC deviation. I have rarely seen this to be a problem since the MDC data burst is such a reliable signal even in the worst of conditions. I'll be willing to take a look if the problem persists - I do a lot of MDC work.
