That is a desktop two-tone paging encoder
that send pages to pagers (or portables)
and can also receive back from the paged
radios.
The model is a two-watt, UHF one channel
tranceiver. They used P50 tranceivers,
and standard Motorola code plans. Not the
tightest quick call tone specs, but good
enough for old radios and pagers. You get
one of these and a few pagers, and you
have a decent low-ball on-site paging
system.
List price (1989) $699. There hasn't been
official Motorola service available for
years.
