covert civic
My personal vehicle is a 2002 Honda Civic 2 Door. I have 13 emergency warning lights in total installed in my car, and not one is visible until turned on.
-3 section LED stick by Able2 in tint strip above rear-view mirror
-(2) hide-a-way strobes in projector style cutouts in headlights
-(2) custom-made micro-thin strobes behind lower grill
-(2) custom made linear strobes on rear deck
-(2) hide-a-way strobes in brake light housings
and for S&G the washer nozzel snakeyes are tied into the LED flasher
I also have an undercover siren with the switches installed in a pocket next to the E-brake. My Maxtrac radio is installed in the drivers door panel. I recently removed my scanner that was remote mounted and audio was fed into an FM modulator so I could tune to (ie. 88.1) and hear comms. It became to much!

Yeah you should see the confused look i get as I glance at the drivers yeilding to what they thought was police, turn into a rice-rocket with a lot of lights.
sometimes I think people are too confused to pull over, that's when they get the air horn!
Yes the maxtrac had really no other options in this car, other than going for the glove-box but then you can't see the radio normally. The door panel offers quick access, and yet still manages to hide the radio when theives look through the window.

- What radios do you own?: XTS5000 for work
I remember like 2 weeks after I started working for a Sheriff's dept I was walking to a side door when I large panel van labeled with "FedEx" all over it pulled up and a bunch of "hooligans" carrying MP5's and raid gear poured out. I'm assuming they just came from a bust. Scared me for a second since they were all intending on going in the same door I was. Nevertheless I hurried to the door...
Is there a posting here with odd vehicles? I remember seeing a '88 taurus rusted all over with a HUGE 4 bulb (at least) rotating beacon on the roof. That thing could be used as an airport beacon! Don't ever recall seeing that piece of crap again. Kinda ironically I use a Grote Roto-beacon 2 bulb with my custom mag mount. Hey, at least its size is proportional to my 'burban. I do take a lot of heat for it but its 100watt blinding bulbs move traffic! Sucker must draw 15amps alone...

Rice Rocket?
In the console of the Civic, you find yourself a perfect spot for your Maxtrac. Honda made an ISO slot, and in it my GM-300 looks like a original Honda option! (or, the Honda is an Motorola option?).

you're kidding...
must look strange, but come on dude, sparkin' it up there a little?
and does jersey really have those regulations on their vollies and their light shows?
In CT (i think, it's been a while since i've checked) you can run your approved color forward (VolAmb = GRN, VolFire = BLU) if your dept signs the state paper, and Vol Fire Chief (and two delegates) can run RED & WHITE w/ siren tones. Vol Amb. used to the be just the chief, but i think there's some rumblings to make it the same as VFD. i think vollies can run airhorns, (but those are useless if you can't clear an intersection w/ a siren) and atleast in CT, i don't think there's a law that says you HAVE to pull over for vollies in their own vehicles, and you have to obey standing traffic control measures and laws. A friend said she belived she heard something about them changing the bluelight laws in CT, but i dunno.
As for flashing headlights, CT says it's not illegal to run flashing headlights (since it is the functional same thing as FLASH-TO-PASS ) but you cannot run (as a vollie) ALTERNATING headlights unless you have "the letter" signed by the local PD chief giving you express written permission.
all in all, the best vollie light show in the WORLD won't do dick if your motoscooter is highcentered on a snowdrift, or an unplowed street and me and my cub cadet and 4x4 cruise on in, nice and safely.

Oh what the hell...it still looks cool - Props! Not like someone will die or take a severe toll if there are 2 more lights on the car... Can't everyone have a bubblegum, single rotating light on the roofRadioSouth wrote:Is this the same Jersey that permits (2) Blue Lights max. and NO strobes,

Stretching the envelope a bit, no ?

The Jersey blue-light laws are extremely limiting ON PAPER. They state a maximum of (2) blue lights on the top of the roof, placed above the front posts. They must not exceed 50 candlepower, and some other ridiculous things including no strobes (obviously, their like 1,000,000 candlepower) The funniest part of that is there is NO lights out there that are only 50 candlepower. However, there is not too many cops that: (1) know these laws, (2) would ever think of enforcing them upon an volunteer EMS or fire worker, or (3) take the time to do so. The only time one must watch it is during vehicle inspection. I just disconnect the power to the supply for this. The only legislation we actually have going FOR us in Jersey is all vehicles MUST yeild to blue-colored, and red-colored "flashing-lights".
