Minitor II and III relay activate
On the Min II & III chargers with accessory output, do these relays latch when the QCII tones activate or do they close momentarily (how long?) and automatically reset?
It seems that some of these need to have the reset button pressed to reset the relay.
Can it their action be changed internally?

Jim,
I have installed a few of these to turn on bunk room lights and the units always latched until reset. This was kind of nice because the lights didnt come on then back off, they allowed the crew to get dressed without being in the dark, and they could reset the pager when they got back to station.
I'm not sure about changing this, but you would think big "M" would make this changable by pins, DIPs, or jumpers.
If not, a timer should solve ur problem.

You can select a 10 second closure then reset, straight from the minitor page on here.
Pins 4 and 5 of the accessory connector are used to
select the time duration of the relay contact closure.
If these two pins are NOT used (open circuit), the relay
will remain energized for approximately 10 seconds after
an alert is received. If pins 4 & 5 are SHORTED, the relay
will remain energized until the 'RESET' button on the front
of the charger/amplifier is depressed. Pressing the
'RESET' button causes the contacts to open and turns off
the ALERT indicator."

I was referring to the charger. The minitor 2,3 and 4 all work in the same charger
Uhhh...
The M3 and M4 work in the same charger, but the M2 is a separate animal. It looks like the pins are in the same places, but it doesn't work. I don't have a service manual for the M3 or M4 to compare pin function with the M2.
Anyhow- for the M2 amplified charger, leaving pins 4 and 5 non-shorted will result in a 10 second contact closure. Pins 2 and 3 are the relay's dry contacts.

Boy, I wasted a lot of money on all those Minitor III/IV chargers guess...2wayguy wrote:I was referring to the charger. The minitor 2,3 and 4 all work in the same charger

uhhh... here we go again
I guess all of the departments around here that are using their old M2's in the new amp chargers are imagining that they work?? Not sure what you are talking about but the latest amp chargers I got from M in the last 6 months all work fine with M2's.

I will concede that a 3 or 4 may not work in a charger for a 2. I don't have any 3's or 4's to try it with but I have a bunch of 2's that are working fine in brand new M3/4 amp chargers. The accessory pins seem to be identical as well as I have managed to unplug old defective chargers and replace them with the new ones..

Re: Minitor II and III relay activate
I have a Minitor 4 with amplifier. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to use the accessory option on the back to be able to turn on a light when the pager activates.
