Anyone in the Market for a Police Tahoe?
Hey All.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6156
This seller has had several Ex Law Enforcement Tahoes for sale in the last couple of months. Most seem to have under 80,000 miles on them. Nice vehicles for an officer. But do they really need OnStar with all the radios in the vehicles?

Does anyone quite get the relationship of this seller? I know I'm confused. It's the State of Oregon which also has the US Dept. of Interior logo in their ads selling stuff from around the US. Looked at a couple of the car ads and they're located in Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico ???
Kinda sounds like Oregon is snapping up Gov't. surplus and re-selling it ?

I still thinkn that purchasing a car on eBay is the last stage of desperation for a car.
Bid is at $11,000 already? This really isn't the deal of the decade here, folks. You can go to the Pa. state auction (as a licensed auto dealer or with a licensed dealer) and get this vehicle for probably $6000-$8000 and drive it home without paying the typical eBay games and other BS associated with eBay. I'm sure most other states are proabably the same or close to this.

actually, its a special service tahoe with the optional z71 suspension option. USBP uses lots of them around here.apco25 wrote:That not an actual special service Tahoe, but a Z71 used in police service.
interesting that it has 8 lug rims like the 3/4 ton 2500 series suburban.
Note the black cladding on the bumper; bright appearance package grille (not body color); black (not body color) door handles, non-power seats...
Oh... and i see 6 lugs, unless my math is screwey
i dont recall it being on the list of options when my ambulance company was looking to get a supervisor truck, but i've seen them daily with the border patrol locally.
its not a bad combination, the z71 suspension with the special service package... its a awesome off-road truck, but without all the cushy features like butt-warmers and leather seats.
I wouldn't mind one at all, actually.
