2004 CV under hood wire harness??

Post by mastr »

On the 2004 CV, there is a harness taped near the battery with 5 wires, one of which has a ring terminal. What are they for? grille lights maybe?. Of course, I can't get any info out of our agency garage--"we don't use those" is as far as I got. Local Ford dealer says " l dunno, its a police car"

they are for the grill light and speaker. If you follow them back to behind the blower on the passenger fender the 537 can flasher is attached to them. It goes in the firewall and the other end is in the passenger kick panel..

We dont use them either...

Wires

Post by twowaytekk »

I have a Ford supplemental book with all the wiring diagrams for the 2004 CVs. These wires are just that....extra wires for whatever you want. Without going outside to get the book I believe some of them go to the console area while the others go to the trunk area. I do have to say that Ford finally started prewiring these cars for just about anything. The only thing that is not mentioned in the books as of yet is there is a fuse under the glove box that controls the acc + relays. So if you have problems not getting power after checking the other fuses check this one..it's a 10amp.

This is an option. I have three 04 CVs in the shop now and none have this. These are county contract cars and are stripped POS cars.

Here is a web page for Masterack Crown. It shows what is available on the 2004 Vics. There is also a link to request a manual.

I have found that it depends on the dealer that orders the car. The state bid have them..The local dealer that matches the state bid cars dont have them.
