Hello everyone !
I have a couple of Minitor III pagers with loose mode switches and wanted to know if motorola is fixing this problem at the depot?
thanks
steve
If you send your pager to the depot, most likely you will receive a different pager back. Most of them are replaced with refurbished pagers to speed turn time. If you specify that the ONLY problem is a mechanical problem, they will most likely take care of that problem & return the original pager.
If you mean "Are they working on this problem to take care of this in the future", they already did. It's called the Minitor IV. That was designed to address hardware problems in the field. The Minitor V (currently under development) is to take care of sensitivity concerns & (hopefully) other electrical problems.
Why didn't Motorola take care of both at once? To get a product out in the field rapidly to correct the biggest problems, the mechanical ones.
Please note (to paraphrase WOWBAGGER) this is my opinion only, not Motorola's.
I just sent in 2 of the Minitor III's and got back 2 brand new Minitor IV's. The letter stated that parts for the III's are very scarce and to get me back in service they sent me two "Brand New" IV's. The turn around was also great @ approx 4 days. The flat rate is $78.00 including Fed Ex next day air back to you, not a bad deal for 2 new pagers. Make sure you call and get a Depot Form to speed up the process. 1-800-909-5153 pager division or 1-800-227-6772 direct to the main depot. They can transfer you to the right place from there. Hope this helps.
Every living thing including roaches are running out the fire, we're running in the fire. It's hard to explain. Are roaches smarter than we are?
Anyone know the UPS account number for Moto pager repair? I need to send a couple in.
Thanks.
"depending on your point of view, either the changing magnetic flux makes the electric field, or the changing electric flux makes the magnetic field- but you can't have one without the other"
