Mysterious radio cutout

Post by jim »

I had an engine in the shop today that several radio shops have attempted to repair. The UHF radio would at times shut down then power up again maybe 15 minutes or so.
Sometimes the radio wouldn't work at all. Other times it would work perfectly.

Problem: some fu#@!&$ Eienstein connected the radio's power lead into the load manager! Whenever the system voltage dropped, the radio was the second device to cut out.

This is why some "radio shops" should just stick to selling HTs and pagers.
