Eh? Not familiar with that one.. Are you referring to the Cisco ATA-186?RidgeRunner wrote:If I was to purchase one of the SIPphone Adapter-286 would that be an acceptable unit? I would just put a nice cordless phone on it.

Re: SIPphone Adapter-286
It's like the ATA-186 and yes, it should work just fine.Sundown wrote:Eh? Not familiar with that one.. Are you referring to the Cisco ATA-186?RidgeRunner wrote:If I was to purchase one of the SIPphone Adapter-286 would that be an acceptable unit? I would just put a nice cordless phone on it.

OK folks. I set up another person today. He was behind three, count em, three NATs. Worked perfectly.
One thing that I did have to do is get him to download the RIGHT version of the software.
IE; You want this one... http://www.xten.com/index.php?menu=brands&brand=x-lite
You don't want the "Auto Config" version.

Just a suggestion - post your BAT number in your sig so we can get ahold of you! K4WTF - when we set it up - the DISPLAY field is what it should display when you call someone on their phone correct? (liek caller ID?) I called someone last night and they said it didnt say any info, and their info didnt show up when they called me. Am I missing something?

question?
I have a motorola surfboard SBV4200 voice over ip cable modem. Its one of those time warner jobbies, and I dont have time warner service. Is there a way I could make this thing work? I really dont think I can b/c it seems the way you get your internet connection into this thing is thru the cable jack, but I figured I would ask here first.
Thanks
Thanks

Have your switch register with my switch and it won't do that. I just remembered tracking this type of thing in the past.Johnny Grep wrote:I did
I called you using my administrator's extension on my own switch. I created a test dialplan to John's switch by dialing 8 followed by the last 4 digits of your number.

asterisk connected to repeater?
In Asterisk, there is support for a "Radio Repeater".
Does anyone have this running?

Alright,I'm finally online and working (228-1337 - c4u53 1 4m k-r4d 1337 r000fl3z! kekekekekeke~~~!!!!!!!!11 )
Is anyone running on a Mac? If so, I had a hell of a time getting X-lite to accept my password. It kept reverting to whatever the default was (and the fact the mouse doesn't work in the config screen didn't make things any easier). It finally, for some reason, worked and I was up and talking to r0f and Excalibur last night.
Great job, John! Nice to see something good on here that we all can use.

I setup X-Lite with the above instructions and everything is correct. It says "Discovered open IP" on the top. I enter a number and it just sits there like nothing is happening. No idication it is trying to do anything, not errors, no nothing. What am I missing here??
P.S.- Where I am right now, I am on a dialup so I know it won't work well. But I figure it should do SOMETHING?

Do you still have the program running? If it's running, I can watch the debug logs and try to find out what the problem is.nmfire10 wrote:I setup X-Lite with the above instructions and everything is correct. OK folks.
For your amusement, you can now dial "8378" (test) and get to a menu tree that I'll be adding different things to as I get to them.
Right now, here are the menu options:
11# - who knows?
12# - record a file, playback a file (press # to finish recording)
13# - Time/Date
14# - Playback your caller ID information
15# - who knows?
16# - who knows?
Enjoy...

OK, now I am at home on my high speed connection. I tried it with no changes to the router and it says "Discovered blocked firewall". Ok, figures. I opened up that range of ports (5004, 5060-65534) and it still says "discovered blocked firewall". What the hell. I don't have the windows firewall or any other firewalls in place.

Mine says "Discovered Restricted Firewall" behind my school's firewall - but when I dial, it does nothing, just like it was doing for Matt. Do I have any chance of getting this working behind my "restricted" firewall...?
OK - I know the firewall shouldn't affect anything - I can make and get calls on FreeWorldDialup (my # is 18875) using X-Lite just fine - but I'm not registering on the BAT-PHONE network :-\
