2000 Ford Taurus back up lights

Post by fd2119 »

Anyone know if these're big enough to accomodate hide-a-way strobes, or no?

Thanks.

yes, they will, a lot of brands will fit, take a measuring tape and check the available spots to drill a hole for the mountinng and you will have a definate answer for the type strobes you're wanting to put there.

heres what i did and it works GREAT...remount your back up lights in smaller holes drilled ABOVE the original sockets. put ur strobe inserts in the orginal reverse light holes and seal em up. this makes the signal REALLY bright and does not diminish the light output of ur back up light too much. in addition the only spot to mount the strobes if you do not do this WILL MELT YOUR TAILLIGHTS in th corners of the brake/stop/turn singals.

the new option is the 2004 tailight assembly has CLEAR lower portions...like for amber bulb turn signals. within this there is a knock out for a bulb assembly that is not used. prior to this stobes barely showed up but if you mount ur inserts in this knock out area...they rock. it is a reflector designed for a bulb but they never put one in...
i have done this to mine and it is much better and u do not lose ur backing light integrity
