Hi there,
Do Saber and System Saber radio share the same housing ? Can I ruggedize a System Saber by putting in a Saber R housing ?
Thanks in advanced.

Only the button labeling and decals (on II and III models) is different between Sabers and Systems Sabers. On I models, the only difference is the decal.

You can do what you propose, but there's more to making a true R model than just putting it in the housing. The top control panel plastic and the seals, including the knobs, are different in construction. A non-R control panel isn't waterproof like a true R model, but it's very water resistant if it's in good condition and will survive a brief dunking.

Thanks Elroy,
Its just I've never seen R type System Saber and since the rest of my Sabers are all R type, I would like to convert the System one to R also.
Is there such thing as true R type System Saber with the water tight nobs ?
