What band is this antenna for?

Post by chipjumper »

I received a VHF HT1000 from uncle sam a while ago and it came with this antenna:

Notice the red bottom

(if the pic doesn't load, its a long black antenna with a "flex" in the middle. Looks kinda like the 800Mhz Dipole antenna except the flex part is in the middle and not at the top.)

I have no idea...seems to receive fine on VHF...

I have a couple of those antenna's kicking around. I use one on my XTS - very nice antenna. IIRC, it even gives you some gain, but i'm not sure.

Yep, wideband VHF. I just got one for my MTS2K VHF. Check out the online manuals for the MTS2000 in the beginning few pages they have the Antenna chart for each band with the matching color codes for each antenna. Very helpful. the doc is in PDF format.

Here is the link as I am feeling generous this moring :-)

I'll take it and some more of them if you have no need for them.

We are using them for CAP and with freqs lower than 144 and above 155 they tend to be helpful...

Just let me know what you need for them...

Thanks,

Ted...
