Help with Shinwa EEPROM programmer

Post by 91-7 »

Hello all! This is my first post here, and seeing how this forum seems to be a wealth of information perhaps someone here can help me with this one!

I need help with programming a Shinwa SC440X UHF mobile. The radio utilizes a removable prom which I have the programmer for, a Shinwa Model SD303C.

I have already programmed one prom with this burner, but I could only muddle through it. I have no documentation regarding the menu system of the programmer and need to know what the commands are, what options are available etc.

If anyone has one, uses, or has used one of these programmers and can provide to me any documentation I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Put me on that list, I bought out a closed up repair shop and have about a dozen brand new in the box.

Radioman,

You have a dozen radios or programmers?

The 440 mobile is a really nice radio. I use to work for a dealer that sold a large number of Shinwa radio, mostly portable. I can't really remember how to run the programmer but it's not very hard as it's channel # tx #'s tx pl code and the same for the rx side of things. I do remember the up arrow doing alot. Sorry for such little details but hope that might help.

dvpman,

Thanks Mike! That's about the extent of what I figured out too. I was wondering if there were programmable options for talkaround, etc. But every little bit helps. There's not much out there on Shinwa's let alone this rig. Yes, it's not a bad radio either, for what it is.

I just remembered I do have the two-digit numeric codes for all the PL's and I will post them, perhaps that will help out RADIOMAN as well.
