Hi:
If you should purchase the simpler interface
Will Makes, I would be interested in the
R*I*C*K you have.
If you should decide to stick with what you
have, make sure all the cables are in good
order, and all the Dip Swiches are set properly inside. There is also some audio
processing controls that should be adjusted
as well....
The Motorola RICKS are NOT the Atypical plug
and play devices, and have to be set up per the individule user.
Part Number for the Book is 6880901Z79 and
I can probably sell you a 2cd copy if you
can foot the price for it.
For the Bi-Directional Settings the Dip Switches should be set as:
1. On
2. On
3. OFF
4. OFF
5. OFF
6. ON
7. OFF
8. ON
9. OFF
10. ON
11. ON
12. OFF
YOu also have to go into the RSS and Program
the Radio for I/O operation
These are some of the reported troubles for
Transmitt Audio Problems:
1. Loose or bad cables
2. S2 of RICK not configured correctly
3. JU551 missing on audio board
4. R23 Not adjusted properly
5. J4-5 or J4-2 Shorted due to connections
to J4-ACC of RICK
6. Audio Loaded by Acc'y Connector
7. Audio Loaded by Mic Plugged into Transmitter
Anyhow, as you can see, its a liitle tough
for some to set up....But they do work !

Monty, This is only PART of the problems in the RICK setups, but I thank you for passing on the set-up information here. I would hope that that info helps KA9VXS correct his problem.
Cable problems are first to check, and I have found too many cables with problems.
How many pulled out RICKS do you want?
I could make lots of money on the bad RICKS pulled.
