Looks like some kind of BDA system but I'm not sure.

Pretty bizzare but I'd say it's some sort of extender anyway. Looks like a UHF Yagi by the size of the antenna, maybe a VHF Antenex stealth type omni on top of the box. Crossband repeater maybe? How far are the omni and the yagi apart?

the can antenna is surely a UHF by the size.

Probably either a funky outdoor BDA, but why? Seems the beam points a the building?

Weird!

maybe some sort of SCADA system? The box looks right for an outdoor SCADA setup.

Maybe a voter for the basement of that building, but I kinda doubt that.

The top photo is probably for transmitting data that it collects or something like that - might be a site that's used to monitor utilities or other systems with a RF link as a backup or primary means to move data.

How about some more info: Where is it? What kind of property it's on?

Cripes, most people think I can talk to Mars from my truck - those pictures really just leave it up to your imagination as to what it could be...

It on the UW (University of Washington) campus, other then that I don't really know what the building is. I will find out and post it some. I really don't have any information about it. I just took those today, and I walk around it to see if it said anything but it didn't. The yagi points down into the windows that are in a well.

Let me look on the UW website and see what building that is.

Also forgot to say, the only label I could see what on the Antenex. It said that it was an Antenex. :D

Ok that was easy, the building is the Husky Union Building or HUB. Off the UW site "The HUB houses student activities, a games area, cafeteria, branch of the University Book Store, bicycle shop, and bank, as well as an auditorium, ballrooms, a variety of meeting rooms, an information desk, and administrative offices, including those of student government organizations."

Wow. They put their floor plans online?

One of the school's near me has them online, but only if your registred on the campus can you get access to them.

They do it as a security measure.

I think it may be that they have a lot of non-student stuff there. The site say that they rent out the ballrooms and meeting room and I recall here about non-UW event that go on there.

Have people know were the Subway or Info desk is don't seem like it would be that big of a security risk.

Interesting setup. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a BDA?

I'd be interested to know what this thing is... I was thinking something along the lines of remote sprinkler control or something like that...

Almost looks like the green box and yagi are separate systems... Note the floor panels in the concrete, and the yagi BEHIND them... The box in front. Interesting.

Know anyone on campus that works in the maintenance department? Betcha they know.

I'm guessing its a sprinkler system controller, too.

I've seen lots of these that use the mobile "fin" style antennas mounted on the top of the enclosure.

The yagi is probably pointing back to the base controller, even though the building is in the path.

That looks like a sewage lift station with a SCADA system on it.
