Hello All-
Speaking of strange mics, has anyone seen the previews for the new Fox TV series "The American Embassy"? In the preview that I saw one of the characters on the show had a strange Public Safety Mic, it was definitly Motorola however it didn't look like any public safety mic i've ever seen produced....It looked almost like a Standard Jedi mic with a UHF antenna, perhaps this is just a Standard Jedi mic with an antenna glued on for a prop??
Any comments,
Julian

Looks to me like its an abreviation for Zone 1. I guess they didn't want to get creative with their alfa tags when they were naming zones. I agree its a very strange looking display.
oops!
I guess I didn't look close enough, mine have that but its usually on the bottom when one of the function buttons has been enabled.

The arrow above the Z should really be on the bottom of the display above the function button to indicate when that function is turned on. BUT, i think you gjuys are right about it possibly being from another country because the MCS2000 model 3's that I've seen have a row of function buttons on the top of the radio...

My experience with Joe and his equipment is mixed. A majority of what I have bought has been DOA or needs fixing. The rest appear to work correctly (XTS adapters, MCS 2000s, and W9 heads). Be very wary of any actual ASTRO equipment.
I wish he would power up everything and provide flashcodes as he has done in the past.
Presume when you are buying a radio from him, you are buying parts. At least his actual transactions and communication are always good. Nice to see an eBay seller actually improve over time. Though we need people like art5001/gulfview to give him some competition.
