I'm thinking of mounting my MCS2000 in my 1998 Explorer under the rear passenger seats and place the remote head on an overhead "shelf-it" shelf.
Does anybody know if the MCS umbilical will fit behind the pastic mouldings on the A pillar?

- What radios do you own?: AM/FM
i think depending on the vehicle, the unit might not be deep enough for the radio to mount flush with the edge of the shelf-it (althought some people say i would be the only one to know
). It would be close.
However, in terms of sturdiness, a lowpower spectra would turn in to quite the projectile in sharp maneuvers, and i'd be REAL careful about mounting a brick above my head or above the ladies head (that's the more important of the two, i can heal, she will kill)...

I've never seen a Spectra in the flesh so have no way of judging if it would fit or not.mikerabbit wrote:How are those shelf-it units is their a decent amount of room, Could ou mount say a low power spectra in it? I am thinking of getting one for my Grand Cheerokee.

But I would be cautious about mounting a radio up there - but there seems to be room a plenty for a remote head or two, plug garage remote, sunglasses, box of tissues and assorted other accoutrements;-)
